Her Journey

 

 

Honey is the youngest of five and comes from a biracial background. She was raised in a strict religious environment that later felt more like control than community. Her father, who was significantly older, struggled with paranoia schizophrenia and later dementia. Her mother also came from an older generation, creating a household where emotional safety was not always present.

 

Her childhood included physical and verbal abuse, instability, and fear — experiences that forced her to grow up quickly and learn how to read energy, emotions, and environments at a young age.

 

At 17, Honey was shunned from her religious community after becoming pregnant. By 22, she was a mother of two, navigating adulthood without the support systems most people rely on. The father of her children was in and out of prison, and the relationship included verbal and emotional abuse that deeply affected her sense of safety and self-worth.

 

For many years, survival came first. But survival eventually turned into a search for healing.

 

 

 

From Survival to Service

 

 

Honey entered the beauty industry nearly 20 years ago and has been licensed just as long. Behind the chair, she quickly realized that many clients were sitting down with stories similar to her own — women carrying silent trauma, stress, single motherhood, emotional exhaustion, and the pressure to stay strong.

 

Beauty became more than appearance. It became a doorway into confidence, nervous system relief, and emotional restoration.

 

Her personal healing journey led her deeper. Honey has now been a Reiki practitioner for 9 years and a certified yoga teacher for 4 years. She became a Reiki Holy Fire® III Master Teacher 5 years ago and has since trained and certified over 30 Reiki practitioners and 5 Reiki Masters.

 

In 2010, she birthed Sweetened By Honey, a beauty space rooted in care, restoration, and confidence. In 2016, she founded Omniversal Truth, expanding into energy healing, spiritual growth, and transformational support.

 

Everything she offers is built from lived experience — not theory.
